Do you think that the story presents technological advance as being positive or negative?
Enders game presents technology as good because without the technological advances the buggers would take over the human civilization because the technology allowed the humans to fight the buggers in space not just on the planet and when the buggers come out in an expeditionary force they would have gone past and might have taken the humans as slaves but with the technology we were able to fight the buggers in space and defend Earth. Technology allowed the humans to not just defeat them once but defeat them for all because if the buggers were more warmongering they might have kept on coming back and back for along time or until we die but with technology the humans in the book were able to go to the buggers home planet and fight the buggers at their home world on the offensive not just on the defensive for ever and ever. Technology allowed the commanders to fight the buggers in safety of being planets and planets away not on the front line risking their lives so if their is a really really good commander his experience wouldn't be wasted in a small skirmish where his ship could be accidentally destroyed by a fluke shot destroying his whole ship his experience and knowledge would be completely destroyed but with the technology they are safe and wont die from battle.
